There are a lot of websites and apps that can help with finding flights, hotels and car rentals using points & miles. We particularly like Award Tools’ breadth of features, especially creating Alerts.
Award Tool
Award Tool is a strong, well-designed award search tool that does exactly what it promises: it simplifies the process of finding flights (and hotels!) you can help pay for with points. It’s not magic, and it won’t replace understanding how loyalty programs work—but used wisely, it can save hours of searching and open the door to trips that feel far more luxurious than your budget would suggest. Like any good travel-hacking tool, its real power comes when paired with patience, verification, and a little strategy. Bottom line: AwardTool is a valuable addition to our points & miles search toolkit—especially recommended for travelers who want clarity, speed, and better visibility into what their points can actually do.
Point.Me
The biggest strength of point.me is clarity. Results are cleanly organized, easy to understand, and paired with step-by-step guidance on how to book each option—including which points to transfer, where to book, and what to expect in fees. For travelers new to award travel, this hand-holding is incredibly valuable. That said, point.me is not perfect. Availability occasionally needs to be verified directly with the airline, and experienced award travelers may find the tool slightly restrictive compared to more advanced platforms. The subscription cost can also feel steep if you only book one trip per year. Note: If you are an American Express Platinum cardholder, you do receive a free account (limited to searching Membership Rewards partners), which can be handy. Bottom line: Point.me is an excellent starting point for travelers who want simplicity, guidance, and confidence when booking flights with points—especially those early in their points-and-miles journey.
